One of the biggest golf days on the high school calendar is upon us as the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls host the Golden Hawk Invitational at the Kalona Golf Course Thursday.

Mid-Prairie comes into the match off of a quad meet win over Tipton, Iowa Mennonite School and Mediapolis. The Hawks shot a team round of 204 to win the event, led by meet medalist Abbi Patterson with a 44. Mid-Prairie is led on the season by Paige Slabaugh with a nine hole average of 45. Patterson is second at 48 and Emma Mattes, Kendra Schaefer and Abby Statler all check in at 57. Mid-Prairie will be joined at the meet by Durant, Fairfield, Iowa City Liberty, Iowa City Regina, Tipton, West Branch, West Liberty, Williamsburg and Wilton.

Action starts at 12:30 and continues all day at the Kalona Golf Course.
