The Washington and Mid-Prairie boys and girls track teams will be on the oval tonight in Mount Pleasant for a co-ed meet.

The Washington girls were most recently in action Tuesday at the Falcon Relays in West Burlington. The Demons were third in Class A with 112 points and had three championship events on the night with Hannah Anderson winning gold in the 100 and long jump while the Demon 4×200 team of Leah Marek, Ashley Telleen, Anna Nacos and Jenah Greiner also brought home a title.

The Demon boys last competed a week ago at the Steve Roth Relays at Case Field. Washington scored 31 points that night with their top finishes coming from Ryan Reighard fourth in the 100, and Spencer Sotelo and Brennan Horak finishing fifth respectively in the long jump and 3200. In relay events the 4×200 team was a runner-up, the sprint medley team third, the distance medley team fourth and the shuttle hurdle team fifth.

The Mid-Prairie boys open up the outdoor season tonight. They were last in action a week ago at the University of Dubuque for the River Valley Conference Indoor Championships. The Hawks won two titles at the meet with Floyd Evans taking the 800 and the 4×800 team of Cary Schaefer, Marshall Teets, Evans and Zach Pettit bringing home gold.

Due to the inclimate weather this is the first time the Mid-Prairie girls will be outdoors on the young season, their meet at Iowa City Regina Saturday was cancelled. The Golden Hawks have not been on the track since the Central College Indoor meet on March 17th. At Central Mid-Prairie saw Anna Hostetler bring home the title in the 1500 with Marie Hostetler finish second, Ana Fleming was runner-up in the 800.

Joining the Demons and Golden Hawks in Mount Pleasant are Davenport Assumption, Burlington, Cedar Rapids-Jefferson, Central Lee, Davenport North, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City City High, Mediapolis, Ottumwa, and West Burlington Notre Dame. Action starts at 4:30 at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant.
