The official kickoff to the outdoor track season comes tonight at Case Field when the Washington Demons host the Steve Roth Relays.

The Demons ran once during the indoor season, at their meet hosted at Cornell College March 9th. Ethan Hunt led the way for Washington finishing third in the 400 and 13th in the 200. Spencer Sotelo was eighth in the long jump, Lincoln Kleese was 13th. Brennan Horak was 10th in the 1600.

The Columbus Wildcats will join the Demons tonight. Columbus was also in action at the Demon Indoor at Cornell. On the night the Wildcats were led by Tommy Pretz sixth in the long jump and Abel Mena 21st in the 200.

The Highland Huskies will also be at Case Field. Highland ran once on the indoor circuit, also at the Demon meet at Cornell. They were led on the night by the 4×400 team of Isaac Black, Bryce Waters, Jarrett Brown and Bryan Redlinger taking 23rd.

The Keota Eagles will make the trip to Washington tonight. Keota was in action Monday at the South Iowa Cedar League Indoor Championship meet in Grinnell. The Eagles were led on the night by Justin Moeller third in the 800. Luke Greiner was fifth in the 200 and sixth in the 60m. The Keota 4×200 team was third.

The WACO Warriors will also be in action at Case Field. WACO ran at last Saturday’s Central Indoor meet in Pella. Colton Horak had a big day for the Warriors placing eighth in the 60m hurdles, ninth in the 60m dash and 20th in the 200m dash.

The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves wrap up the area roster at tonight’s meet. WMU ran at the Dickinson Relays at Northern Iowa earlier this month. In that event the Wolves were led by Kolten Buster 14th in the high jump, BJ Rodgers 30th in the long jump and Brandon Snowden 34th in the 200.

Joining the roster of area schools at Washington tonight are Cedar Rapids Xavier, Danville, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City City High, Mediapolis, Mount Pleasant, Ottumwa, Cedar Rapids Prairie, Wapello, and West Burlington.

Action begins at 3:30 and continues into the evening at Case Field in Washington.
