The Sigourney and Keota boys track and field teams were in action Monday in Grinnell at the South Iowa Cedar League Indoor Championship meet.
The Savages scored the lone event championship on the night with Tommy Tout winning the 1600m with a time of 5:05.12. Mason Moore was fourth in the same event. Other top finishes for Sigourney included Carson Crawford fourth in the shot put with a throw of 38’5″, Mac Conrad was ninth. Paul Montgomery was fifth in the 800 in 2:24.46. Carson Crawford was sixth in the 200m, Kyle Weber was ninth. In relay events the Sigourney 4×800 team was runner up, the distance medley team fifth, the 4×200 team seventh and the 4×400 team ninth.
Top finish for the Keota Eagles came from Justin Moeller in the 800, taking third place with a time of 2:21.92. Other top finishes for the Eagles included Luke Greiner fifth in the 200 at 24.87 seconds. Greiner was also sixth in the 60m in 7.70 seconds, JD Stout was seventh. Wyatt Sieren took seventh in the high jump at 5’4″, Alex Heisdorffer was seventh in the shot put with a throw of 37’8.5″. In relay events the Eagle 4×200 team was third, the 4×400 team eighth and the distance medley team ninth.
