The U.S. Department of Agriculture has released the 2017 corn for grain yield estimates for each county in the state and Washington County was higher than the state average.

The state average was 202 bushels per acre, and Washington County was at 220.4 bushels per acre. Washington, Iowa, and Louisa Counties were three of the 19 counties with yields higher than 215 bushels per acre. The highest average yield was Marshall County at 222.4 bushels per acre.
