Three bids were received from companies to do improvement work on Maple Avenue and 105th Street near Kalona.

At Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained the roads will be graded, and then county crews will come in and stabilize it. The cost estimate was $260,000. The bids ranged from $312,000 to $251,849.05. The lowest price was from Cornerstone Excavating, and the contract was awarded to the company.
