Sometimes, there isn’t always a second chance, but tonight the No. 13 ranked Iowa Mennonite boys basketball team gets an opportunity against No. 11 New London with the class 1A district 9 championship on the line at Mediapolis.

IMS enters play at 20-3 on the year, winners over Highland in the district semifinals Thursday 52-38 behind 14 points from Eli Ours. On the season, IMS is led by Cole Ours, scoring 14 points per game, 10th in the Superconference North Division. Caleb Gingerich has the team lead and is ninth in the north with 70 assists. Mitchell Schmeider has the team lead and is eighth in the Superconference North with 156 rebounds.

New London comes into tonight’s game with an overall record of 17-4. The Tigers eliminated Burlington, Notre Dame in the semifinal round of district play Tuesday 55-49. On the season the Tigers are led by Isaac McSorely scoring 16 points per game, third in the Superconference South. Keontae Luckett leads the Tigers and is second in the South with 141 assists. On the glass, Grant Swanson leads the way with 113 boards. IMS is looking revenge in this matchup, these two teams met in the Final Four of the Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot Out two weeks ago with New London taking a 73-50 win.
