The WACO basketball teams welcomed West Burlington to town on Tuesday and came out with a doubleheader split.
In the girls’ game the Falcons scored early and often to capture a 63-35 road win. A big first half propelled the Falcons to a 16-6 lead after the first and 29-12 at the break. West Burlington continued to pour it on in the second half to cruise to the 28-point win. Sydney Marlow was a big reason for their success with a game-high 22 points. Kiana Miller led the Warriors with 15 points. Laney Graber and Kristen Conelly each added six. WACO falls to 7-13 and West Burlington improves to 12-8.
After losing to the Falcons by 20 earlier in the season, the Warriors got their sweet revenge with a 60-48 victory. The Falcons threw the first punch with a 14-8 lead after the first. The Warriors had a big second quarter to take a 27-22 lead into the break. It was close throughout the second half but sinking 16 of 18 from the line helped the Warriors secure the 12-point win. Drew Kissell led WACO with 19 points on eight of 11 shooting. Conner Eichelberger was also in double figures with 13 points. The Warriors improve to 8-10 and the Falcons drop to 13-6.
WACO gets back on the court today traveling to Cardinal.
