The Sigourney-Keota wrestling team traveled to Packwood Monday night to face off with Pekin in a single dual meet and came out on the losing end with a final score of 42-24.

With the dual starting at 138 lbs, Pekin won each of the first seven matches to take a 31-0 lead. The Cobras were able to battle back and win the next four matches. Gavin Bird won by fall at 220 lbs in 57 seconds, Kaleb Reeves at 285 lbs by fall in 53 seconds, Mason Dye by fall at 106 lbs in 1:44, and Gidien Goff won at 120 lbs by forfeit. The lead was cut to 31-24 but the Panthers won the last two matches to seal the dual win.

After the day the Cobras fall to 15-12 on the season. They will get back on the mat Saturday traveling to Montezuma for the South Iowa Cedar League tournament.
