With a bit of magic, the Keota Eagle Advocates are raising money for technology upgrades for the Keota School District.
The advocates are hosting magician John Greene this weekend for a show to raise money for technology upgrades such as Google Chromebooks. Last year the advocates renovated the high school student lounge and replaced the lounge lockers. The group formed in July of 2016 initially to promote better communication in the district, and now they focus on funding improvement projects for the schools.
Advocate Shelly Hammen comments on the group’s effect, “Well, I think, it’s been a great benefit for the school and even with the students they’ve really spoken out [on] how much they like the lounge. I think everybody kind of came together to work on the lounge, and hopefully we’ll have the same outcome with technology.”
Magician John Greene will perform Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Keota High School Auditorium.
