A Highland student has been named a semifinalist in the 2018 Coca-Cola Scholarship program.

Nathan Butler of Riverside is one of 1,936 semifinalists across the country to continue in the selection process, and one of 19 students selected from Iowa. A committee will review semifinalist applications in January and 250 students will advance as regional finalists, with 150 becoming Coca-Cola scholars. The 150 Coca-Cola Scholars will each receive a $20,000 scholarship.
