Two Washington County 4-H members recently were presented the “I Dare You” national leadership award.

Amy Green, Washington County 4-H and Youth Coordinator, explains this is the highest honor given to Washington County 4-H youth. The recipients are Brooke Stout of the Jackson Jets 4-H Club and Sydney Black of the Highlanders 4-H Club.

The award is presented annually by the American Youth Foundation in cooperation with principals, counselors, county 4-H agents, church groups, and other organizations. It was first offered in 1941 by William H. Danforth, who challenged people to influence others through service.
