Over $1 million was awarded across 33 grants Wednesday evening by the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.

The fall grant ceremony was held at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. There were three grants awarded more than $100,000 each. The City of Wellman received $101,860 for an emergency shelter backup generator. Washington County Conservation received $120,000 for the Kewash Trail connection to the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center. And the City of Kalona received the largest grant of the night, $150,000 for finishes in the community center gym. Since the fall of 2006, the foundation has awarded $41,323,270.
