A car went into the ditch along Highway 92 after swerving to miss a deer Wednesday morning and multiple emergency agencies responded.

According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 6:45 a.m. a vehicle driven by Kenneth B. Jackson of Keota went into the ditch west of West Chester. Washington County Ambulance transported one person to the University of Iowa Hospital. Washington County Sheriff’s deputies, Washington County Rescue, Keota Fire Department, and Keota First Responders assisted at the scene. There was over $1,500 in damages and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
