The Columbus Wildcat girls basketball team suffered a setback to open the new season Tuesday when they fell to the Wapello Arrows 47-25.
The first frame was a defensive battle that saw the Wildcats hold a slim 8-7 lead. Wapello used a big second quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 20-7 in the period to take a 27-15 lead into the locker room. The Arrows maintained control out of the half, building their lead to 37-19 going to the final period. Wapello had three in double figures led by Eryka Dickey with her double double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Addisyn Lolling had 11 points and Kirstyn Hank added 10.
