Three area basketball teams were on showcase Monday night at Hillcrest Union in Kalona for the Iowa Mennonite School boys basketball jamboree.
In game two, Mid-Prairie squared off with Iowa Valley. The Golden Hawks fell behind early 6-0, but used a 12-0 run to take control of the game en route to the 24-16 victory. Eight Golden Hawks found the score sheet led by four points each from Cale Robertson, Ethan Trimpe and Tom Butters.
In game three, the Keota Eagles ran into an athletic bunch from Clear Creek Amana, falling 46-28. The Eagles got a big game from JD Stout with 13 points including three, three point goals.
In the nightcap IMS used overtime to get by West Liberty 37-32. It was a back and forth contest much of the night but down three with under five seconds remaining IMS rushed the ball up the floor and senior Cole Ours connected on a three with no time left to send the game to extras where IMS dominated play for the five point win. IMS was led by Ours with 12, Trevor Leyden had nine.
Mid-Prairie will next be in action Friday when they travel to Highland for a scrimmage. IMS will host West Branch for a Hall of Pride scrimmage on Friday and Keota will be on the floor Monday when they take on Lone Tree.
