Candidates for Washington city council and mayoral positions met Thursday night at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington for a candidates forum hosted by the Washington Chamber of Commerce.

At the event were mayoral candidates Jaron Rosien and Pete Schaefer, Ward 4 candidates Bob Gaal, Chris Gault and Fran Stigers, At-large candidates Elaine Moore and Evie Richardson and Steve Gault who is running unopposed for re-election in Ward 2. Topics covered at the forum included current issues facing the City of Washington, upcoming opportunities, current council work, sewer projects, a discussion of taxes and the city’s role and interaction with other entities within the area and county.
