Three teams in the KCII listening area will be in action this Friday in the first round of the Iowa High School football playoffs.

The Washington Demons advanced to the postseason with a runner-up finish in class 3A district five. The Demons ended the regular season with an 8-1 overall record, and were 6-1 in district play. Washington will open the playoffs on the road against Davenport Assumption. The Knights are 7-2 on the year, and finished 6-1 in district play, getting an automatic bid out of class 3A district four.

The Lone Tree Lions advanced to the postseason with a runner-up finish in 8-man district four. The Lions ended the regular season with an 8-2 overall record and were 5-1 in district play. The Lions will open the playoffs on the road against HLV. The Warriors are 8-2 on the season and finished a perfect 7-0 in district play as champions of 8-man district five, earning the automatic bid.

The Sigourney-Keota Cobras are into the playoffs for the fourth straight season. SK finished the regular season 5-4 and advanced to the postseason in class 1A as a wildcard team. The Cobras were 5-2 in district play. SK will open the playoffs with a trip to 9-0, No. 3 ranked Pella Christian. The Eagles earned the championship and automatic bid in class 1A district five.
