The Washington (5-23) volleyball team starts their postseason tonight when they travel to Mount Pleasant (12-18) to face off with the Panthers in the first round of regionals.
These teams met twice in the regular season with the Panthers coming out on top with sweeps both times. The Demons will need a steady dose of Addison Six and Isabel Bailey who have 119 kills combined on the year. Much of the offense goes through Megan Mitchell who has recorded 128 assists for the season. Defensively Morgan Brinning leads the Demons with 134 digs, and Six has 25 blocks.
The Panthers finished the regular season winning three of their last four contests. Kalyn Batey leads that team with 195 kills and over two per set. Ashlee Menke has accounted for 378 assists. Dani Broeker is fifth in the Southeast Conference with 241 digs and Sadie Carrasco is a force at the net with 71 blocks.
The action gets started at 7 p.m. tonight at Washington High School.
