The Lone Tree Lady Lion volleyball team begins the tournament trail tonight when they travel to Calamus-Wheatland.

The Lions enter play tonight with an overall record of 1-26. They were swept by Mediapolis in their last match Tuesday. On the season Lone Tree is led by Riley Warson with 91 kills. Nico Smith has the team lead with 93 assists. Carly Moore leads the Lion defense with 140 digs.

Calamus-Wheatland comes into tonight’s match with an overall record of 6-18. They were beaten by Lisbon and Cedar Valley Christian in their last action in the opening round of the Tri-Rivers Conference Tournament. On the season the Warriors are led by Sarah Garland with 91 kills. Sammy Flagel is fifth in the Tri-Rivers Conference and best on the team with 145 assists. Jenna Diercks leads the Warrior defense, is best in the Tri-Rivers and seventh in the state with 419 digs.

These two teams last met in the 2015 playoffs with Cal-Wheat getting the three set sweep. The winner of tonight’s match will face No. 2 Springville in the next round Monday. Action begins tonight at 7PM at Calamus-Wheatland High School.
