The Iowa Mennonite School and WACO volleyball teams will square off tonight in the first round of the class 1A regional tournament.

IMS enters play with a 14-13 overall record. In their last action they swept Pekin last week on Senior Night. On the season IMS is led by Suzanna Yoder with 132 kills, 10th most in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Yoder also leads the team and is fourth in the conference with 307 digs. Sami Miller has the team lead and is seventh in the Superconference with 216 assists.

WACO enters tonight’s contest with a 7-18 overall record. Last time the Warriors were on the floor, they fell to Central Lee in four sets. On the season WACO is led by Kiana Miller with 154 kills. Laney Graber has the team lead and is eighth in the Superconference with 276 assists. Aubri Garnsey leads the Warrior defense with 143 digs.

These two teams met last season with WACO taking the victory in three sets. The winner of tonight’s match moves on to play the winner of Winfield-Mt. Union and Keota Monday in Winfield. Action begins tonight at 7PM at Hillcrest Union in Kalona.
