Its opening night for postseason volleyball and Highland (10-17) welcomes West Branch (9-22) to town for the class 2A region 8 matchup.
The Huskies will look to snap a five-game losing skid. Highland will need a steady dose of their one-two punch offensively in Bailey Harmston and Alyson Stokes, each has 104 kills on the year with 1.53 kills per set. Kylie Wood and Murphy Beinhart have combined for 295 assists on the season. Defensively Sydney Black has recorded 251 digs and Harmston is a force at the net with 34 blocks.
For the Huskies to come out with a win they will have to tame the Bears’ Abbey Fryauf who averages over three kills per set with 261 on the year. The Huskies’ offense will have to get by Courtney Jarrett who has 231 digs and Kaiya Luneckas leads the team with 44 blocks.
Postseason play gets started at 7 p.m. tonight at Highland High School.
