A mix of traditional and new events will be held at the Iowa Mennonite School to welcome alumni, students, and community members for a homecoming weekend October 13-15.

The weekend kicks off with alumni volleyball and soccer games, featuring a 20th anniversary celebration of the 1997 State Soccer Championship team. The weekend features the return of the Joetown Classic 5K Run, the annual pork supper, as well as new events to incorporate the community and alumni such as the community hymn sing in Celebration Hall.

IMS Director of Advancement Jeremy Ours explains the purpose of this new homecoming weekend, “We want to provide a time and a space for our alumni to come back, community folks to come to campus and think about their experience that they had here at IMS. An experience hopefully they cherish and still, however many years later, still cherish.”

Visitors will get to tour the IMS campus Saturday afternoon, and inflatables and kids activities will be happening as acoustic trio The Young Ramblers will perform outside.
