The Sigourney-Keota football team took care of business Friday night when they defeated Van Buren 48-16.
The ground game was an emphasis for the Cobras as they racked up 363 yards in that category on 34 carries. Carson Crawford showed off his big play ability by rushing for three scores on eight carries for 166 yards. JD Stout added two more touchdowns for 110 yards on seven carries. Through the air Luke Greiner completed five of his seven passes for 138 yards and a 47-yard touchdown to Stout. Defensively Hunter Wilson led the Cobras with an interception and a pair of tackles. Van Buren was held to 170 yards of total offense.
With the win Sigourney-Keota improves to 2-3 as Van Buren drops to 1-4. The Cobras host Columbus Community for homecoming on Friday.
