Area schools were well represented at Mount Pleasant on Tuesday as the cross country teams competed in a meet.

In the small class division, Winfield-Mt. Union placed fourth out of 12 in the boys division with 113 points. Holy Trinity took home the title with 72 points. Brody Barton led the way placing third with a time of 18:21. Wilton’s Buddy Darting claimed first with a time of 17:30. Other top finishes for the Wolves were Jarod Kadel in seventh and Asa Gipple 23rd.

Columbus Community was next in line finishing sixth with 140 points. Marc Estrada once again paced the Wildcats placing sixth with a time of 18:52, and Hunter Humiston was not far behind in eighth.

Lone Tree finished eighth overall with 170 points. Alberto Cortes paced the Lions in 19th with a time of 20:21. Cale Christofferson nabbed 22nd and Curtis Patterson was 27th.

WACO did not qualify for a team score but John Skriver placed 25th with a time of 20:47.

On the girls’ side Winfield-Mt. Union placed fourth with 103 points while Danville and New London tied with 45 points for the title. Pearl Kreiger-Coble put together another strong performance finishing sixth with a time of 21:05. Cecilia Hemsworth cracked the top 10 placing ninth and Isabella Mertens was 54th.

Lone Tree placed fifth with 105 points. Macie Bopp paced the Lions finishing 19th with a time of 23:29. Natalie Patterson placed 35th and Sydney Alt was 39th.

Other notable finishers were Columbus Community’s Jenessa Carpenter placing 30th and WACO’s Delaney Miller was 73rd.
