The Washington cross country teams competed in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday for a meet.

In the large class division the Demon girls placed third out of four teams with a score of 71 points. Mount Pleasant protected their home course winning the event with 32 points. Molly Sparks paced the Demons placing 12th with a time of 22:31. Brooke Stout was not far behind placing 15th and Meredith Raber was 28th. Other finishers for Washington was Ashley Telleen in 34th, Bailey Bryant 40th, and Josie Tanner 42nd.

The Demon boys placed fourth with 76 points while the Panthers took home the title with 31. Brennan Horak led the attack placing sixth with a time of 18:02. Evan Horak was just 10 seconds behind him in seventh and Jacob Van Osdol was 13th. Other scoring for the Demons were Blake Hartzler 26th, Ben Loy 29th, Matthew Collett 30th, and Kiowa Keith 31st.

The Demons will next be on the course Tuesday hosting at the Washington Golf and Country Club.
