At least week’s supervisors meeting the need to upgrade the 17-year-old system and build a new facility was presented. Sheriff Jared Schneider explained the need for better coverage for emergency personnel. Consultants said the current indoor radio coverage is at about 39% and the standard is 95%. Schneider added there are some spots in the county with no radio coverage for emergency crews, including along portions of Highway 218.
