In an area matchup Thursday night the Mid-Prairie volleyball team took care of business defeating Washington in straight sets.

The three set match was in the Golden Hawk favor 25-20, 26-24, and 25-17. Production came from all over for the Golden Hawk lineup led by Maya Hall. She collected a team-high 12 kills, 13 digs and was a perfect 17-17 serving with 3 aces. Caitlyn Riggan set up much of the offensive success with 26 assists. Alison Yoder came up big defensively with 8 digs and also connected on all 12 of her serves resulting in one ace.

The Demons had the best chance to steal a set win in the second with the score tied at 24 but the Golden Hawks delivered on back-to-back points. Sophomore Hannah Anderson had an efficient debut finishing with five kills and four blocks. Morgan Brinning added four kills and was everywhere defensively racking up 10 digs.

With the win Mid-Prairie improves to 3-1 on the year as Washington falls to 0-1. The Golden Hawks get back on the court Thursday traveling to Durant as the Demons head to Grinnell for a tournament tomorrow.
