Washington’s Michael Gier and Ryan Loy continue to be recognized for their solid senior season on the baseball diamond, as they were named to the Class 3A All-District Second teams for the Southeast district.
Gier received the honor as a utility player and was a valuable leadoff hitter for the Demons. He often got the offense started as he racked up a team-high .493 on base percentage and worked 26 free passes. The speedy third baseman was also successful on all 15 of his stolen base attempts to make for an ideal leadoff man. Loy was recognized as an outfielder. As the two-hitter, Loy made for an effective one-two punch with Gier to start up the offense. He drove in 17 runs on the year and had a team-best .360 batting average. The senior posted a .433 on base percentage and stole seven bags for the Demons.
