A Washington teenager is facing citations after throwing fireworks into a vehicle.

As Independence Day came to a close, Washington County Communications received a call near the intersection of West Monroe Street and South E Avenue from a woman reporting that fireworks had been thrown into her car. The call came in at about 11:42 p.m. Washington Police officers located the subjects and 19-year-old Jacob Daniel Mask of Washington was cited for discharging fireworks. No injuries were reported.

*UPDATE: According to Washington Police Department, it was determined the fireworks were thrown from one moving car at a second vehicle. The fireworks did not enter the second vehicle, but did hit it.
