Southeastern Iowa towns will be having day-long Fourth of July celebrations.

The Wayland Lions Club is sponsoring the Wayland Independence Day Celebration, which includes a Freedom Fun Walk/Run, a parade, live music from The Tinders, a scavenger hunt, and a fireworks display at dusk. The City of Wellman will also have their annual celebration, including a parade, pie-throwing contests, pony rides, ball tournaments, and fireworks after dusk.

The KCII Big Red Radio will be at both celebrations, as General Manager Joe Nichols mentions, “We hit the Fourth of July parades and celebrations. We’re going to be in Wellman for their Fourth of July celebration which is always a really big one and lots of fun, and also Wayland Fourth of July. So we’re actually going to be in both, we’re going to do both parades. It takes a little extra work to get to both of them at the same time, but we’re excited about it, we’ve been doing it for a few years that way, and it’s always a good time.”

KCII will be broadcasting live from the Big Red Radio at the Wayland and Wellman Independence Day celebrations on July 4 as part of the KCII Summer Town Tour.
