The Iowa Mennonite School baseball and softball teams host the IMS classic Saturday. The IMS baseball team enters play with an overall record of 7-7 on the year.

They suffered a tough loss Thursday, losing a 7-1 lead before falling to the Highland Huskies 8-7 on the road. In the contest, Drake Brezina, Nick Yutzy and Reggie Borntrager each had two RBI. Borntrager took the loss on the mound, giving up three hits and two runs without recording an out. On the season Brezina leads IMS at the plate hitting .319. He also has a 2-2 record on the mound with a 2.42 ERA. The IMS baseball team will play two games today and we will carry the second live on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIradio.com, tentatively scheduled for a 1:30 pregame show with a 2PM first pitch.

The Iowa Mennonite softball team enters their home tournament today with an overall record of 4-7, they dropped an extra inning thriller Thursday at Highland 9-8. IMS was led in the game by Suzanna Yoder with four hits. Hannah Harris threw seven plus innings, allowed 14 hits and six earned runs in the loss. On the season IMS is led by Avery Blauvelt hitting .500. In the circle, Harris has worked 70 innings with a 4.85 ERA. The IMS softball team will play two games today and we will carry the first live on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIradio.com beginning with the Washington HyVee pregame show at 9:30 and first pitch at 10AM.
