Kids will be going to college this week as the annual Kirkwood for Kids summer camp is held for area youth at the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center.
First through eighth grade students get to select classes to attend from welding to cooking, coding, or graphic design. Tera Pickens, director of the regional center, says the variety allows for any student to find something that piques their interest and many of the classes are STEM based with a blend of creative arts. Transportation is provided in Washington and area towns, including Riverside and Wayland, to the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center. The classes are taught by local instructors. Kirkwood for Kids is returning for its third year in Washington June 19-23.
