Nearly $65,000 is what the Washington Community School District recently received from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for technology improvements.

The district was awarded $30,000 for Chromebooks. Technology director Jeff Brock explains it is part of a $121,000 project to replace 400 Chromebooks at the Middle School and 200 at Lincoln Elementary. Also, $34,950 was presented for technology lab upgrades. Those upgrades include 50 computers to replace the high school industrial technology computer lab and the middle school gateway to technology computer lab. The grant funds half of the cost. In total, the WCRF awarded $809,157 in competitive grants this spring cycle.
