In a seesaw battle the Huskies softball team edged West Burlington 7-6 in nine innings on Thursday.

The Falcons jumped out to an early lead on the Huskies plating two runs in the first inning. West Burlington took that lead into the fifth inning when the Huskies were able to score a pair of runs to get on the board. Both teams exchanged runs in the sixth and seventh which forced free softball in extra innings. The Huskies were able to celebrate in the ninth when Murphy Beinhart had a RBI single right up the middle to plate Emily Yahnkee for the walkoff win. Kelsey Hora looked impressive at the plate again, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Brylee Carolan went all nine innings in the circle giving up five runs.

With the win the Huskies continue their hot start to the season improving to 6-1 on the year as the Falcons drops to 8-9. Highland gets back on the diamond today when they travel to Wheatland for a tournament.
