The Highland baseball team looks to keep their solid start to the season going tonight as they entertain Burlington Notre Dame in their home opener.
Highland (2-0) is picking up right where they left off from their state appearance a year ago as they look to continue their perfect first week of the season. Pitching has been stellar thus far for the Huskies as they have not gave up a run in two games led by Chase Rath by throwing seven shutout innings in a 2-0 win over Mediapolis. Offensive production has come from all around as five players already have a pair of hits on the young season led by Robert Yoder going 3-for-6 with a RBI.
Burlington Notre Dame (1-0) is coming off a 13-2 victory over Danville to open up their season. Freshman Trenton Blythe started his season a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a RBI.
First pitch gets started at 7 p.m. tonight at Highland High School.
