The Lone Tree boys’ and girls’ track teams head to Belle Plaine tonight for their meet.

The Lone Tree girls are fresh off of their fifth place performance last week at Winfield-Mt. Union. Leading the charge for the Lions is Emily Feldman who has the fifth best time in the Southeast Iowa Conference for the 100m hurdles and grabbed a third place finish in the same event at WMU. The 4×800 team of Sydney Alt, Natalie Patterson, Karli Burr, and Macie Bopp look for back-to-back titles as they won the event last week with a time of 11:24.31. Other notable performances for the Lions included Holley Johnson who grabbed a third place finish in the 400m hurdles.

Niko Gosnell leads the boys team as his 110m hurdle time of 16.31 seconds is  first in the north division of the conference. Last week, headlining the Lions was Drake Hotz who took home the 400m dash title with a time of 54.28 seconds and Jovonte Squiers had a long jump winning leap of 21’6’’. Other notable performances from WMU included Ross Swinton grabbing a second place finish in the 1600m, Casey Shalla second in the discus, and Dawson Swails second in the shot put.

Action gets started at 4:30 p.m. tonight in Belle Plaine.
