The Iowa Mennonite boys soccer team saw their three game winning streak come to an end Tuesday night at the hands of Burlington, Notre Dame by a 2-1 score.

The Nikes got on the board in the final five minutes of the first half when Jakob Anderson turned on the speed to score on a breakaway. Notre Dame took that 1-0 lead into the break. In the opening moments of the second half IMS found the equalizer when Seth Danga finished through the Nike defense. The rest of the way IMS controlled possession and created chances to take the lead but were unable to finish. Gavin Kies took advantage of a direct kick situation and found the back of the net for the game winner for Notre Dame. Blake Bontrager made nine saves in goal to lead the IMS defense. With the loss, IMS is now 3-2 on the year and will next be on the pitch tonight when they travel to Mediapolis.
