The Washington Boys golf team opened up their season with a win in their home meet on Thursday night against Mt. Pleasant.
It was a chilly night in Washington where both teams amassed team totals of 167 in the nine-hole meet. The first cardback to number five player still left the two teams tied. The tie was broken on the second cardback to number six where Noah Enfield’s 45 beat Bailey Shelledy’s 46. The Demons’ Dalton Myers posted the best individual score of the meet with a 38. Jacob Van Osdol tied for third with the Panthers Jeff Cox with a score of 41. Washington’s Brock Sobaski grabbed a fourth place finish with a score of 43. Tanner Coleman, Mason Rich, and Enfield tied for sixth with a score of 45.
The Demons are next in action Tuesday night against Columbus Junction, and Mid-Prairie for a 4 p.m. tee time start at Washington High School.
