A junior on the Washington Demon boys’ basketball team (7-14) garnered postseason accolades from the Southeast Conference coaches. This year’s all-conference teams have been released, and Jaivonn Willis represents Washington on the second-team squad.
Willis was the Demons’ leader with 160 points scored, 95 rebounds, and 10 blocks. His 38 assists ranked second on the team.
Mason Rich and Dalton Myers are Washington’s honorable mention selections.
Several Washington players were recognized for their efforts at the squad’s end of the year banquet last Thursday. Rich was selected as the Demons’ offensive most valuable player (MVP). He finished second on the team with 138 points scored, including 23 made three point baskets. John Dillon was chosen as the squad’s defensive MVP. He posted 50 defensive rebounds, 20 steals, and two blocks. Willis was named Washington’s overall MVP. Jacob Van Osdol was tabbed as the team’s most improved player. Van Osdol recorded 83 points, 17 rebounds, 10 steals, and nine assists.
Washington closed the season 7-14 under first-year head coach Colin Stark. The Demons lose Tanner Coleman, Dillon, Rich, and Bryce Sinn to graduation.
