The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team improved on their 16 win total a season ago, bringing home 17 victories in 2016-17.
The Golden Hawks finished with a 13-5 mark in the River Valley Conference, good for third place.
Offensively, Mid-Prairie was second in the conference shooting 43% from the floor. Their 61% team free throw mark was sixth best in the conference. They averaged 53 points per game, fifth most in the league.
Defensively, Mid-Prairie was fourth in the conference with 735 rebounds. Their 131 blocked shots were second in the conference and fourth in all of class 3A. The Golden Hawks were sixth in scoring defense, allowing 45 points per game.
Individually, Mid-Prairie was led by Addie Rath scoring 14 points per game, 10th best in the River Valley Conference. Her 105 assists were second in the conference and eighth in all of class 3A. Ireland Hostetler led the RVC with 82 blocked shots, fourth most in the state. She also pulled in 205 rebounds, third in the conference and ninth in the state.
Rath was an Elite team River Valley Conference selection. Hostetler and Ali Butters were All-South Division selections. Shae Becker was an honorable mention All-Conference selection. Mid-Prairie ended the year with a 17-7 overall record.
