Former Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball standout and Minnesota State freshman Amber Kral was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week on March 6th.
During the week of the award, Kral hit .571 with four home runs, two doubles, 11 runs driven in and five scored. She became the first Minnesota State player in 14 years to hit three home runs in a single game, cracking homers in her first three at bats in a win over Urbana.
So far on the season she is hitting .361 with 22 total hits, eight homers, four doubles, three triples, 24 driven in and 18 runs scored. The Mavericks have won 11 straight games including a 10-0 performance in the first full week of March in a tournament at Clermont, Florida. They will next be in action March 17th at the Missouri Western Tournament. The Mavericks have an overall record of 17-3.
