Several upperclassmen on this year’s Lone Tree Lions boys’ basketball team garnered postseason accolades from the coaches of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. The league released the names of this year’s all-conference team, and five players represent Lone Tree on the squad.

Senior Jovonte Squiers is the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North’s Co-Player of the Year for a second straight season. He shares the honor with Wapello’s Trenton Massner. Squiers was the conference leader with 175 assists and 109 steals, the third most in Class 1A basketball. He was Lone Tree’s second leading scorer with 286 points, the 10th most in the league.

Senior Niko Gosnell is a member of the all-conference first team. Gosnell was Lone Tree’s leader with 410 points scored and 218 rebounds, the second highest totals in the league. His 65 blocks were eight more than the rest of the conference.

Junior Brock Smith represents the Lions on the all-conference second-team. He was Lone Tree’s second-leading rebounder with 114 and his 180 points scored was the third most.

Seniors Dawson Swails and Ross Swinton are the team’s honorable mention selections.

Lone Tree ended the season with a record of 17-6 overall. The Lions lose Sam Fuhrmeister, Gosnell, Trey Pierson, Swails, Michael Schmidt, Squiers, Swinton, and Wyatt Westfall to graduation.
