The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team travels to Center Point-Urbana today for their final weekend tournament of the regular season.
The Golden Hawks are coming off of a tough outing Thursday where they dropped both duels of a conference triangular with Camanche 62-17 and West Liberty 68-12. Format for today’s event is a dual tournament so Mid-Prairie has a chance to improve on their 9-6 overall team record. They enter the day with two ranked wrestlers in their lineup according to thepredicament.com and iawrestle.com. Duncan McCain is ranked ninth in class 2A at 132lbs and Visouth Peterschmidt is ranked fourth at 195lbs. Joining the Golden Hawks at the event are Dubuque Wahlert, New London, Oelwein, and the host Stormin’ Pointers. There are nine ranked wrestlers in total in today’s field. Action continues all day at CPU High School.
