A pair of all-conference players are back to lead the Keota Eagle boys’ basketball team this winter. Seniors Jacob Wickenkamp and Avery Conrad scored more than 250 points each and pulled down more than 130 rebounds during last season’s 17-7 campaign.

Wickenkamp was selected to the South Iowa Cedar League second team. His 275 points scored was the sixth most in the league. He also grabbed down 132 rebounds, eighth most in the conference.

Conrad was the only Eagles’ player to record 200 points and 200 rebounds. His 255 points scored was the ninth best in the league and his 200 rebounds were the third most. Conrad earned KCII’s Hedge Above Lawncare Athlete of the Week award on March 2.

Hunter Wilson and Cole Stout are returning players with varsity experience. The pair accounted for 309 points and 35 assists last year. The Keota Eagles boys’ basketball team will begin their season tonight at Lone Tree. The Lions won last year’s game, 68-63.
