Iowa’s corn harvest is two days ahead of the five-year average with 98% of corn for grain harvested. Southwest and south central Iowa still had about eight percent of the corn crop and five percent of soybeans left to be harvested. Southeast Iowa had 97% of corn for grain harvested. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, harvest activities were nearly complete by November 20th. Moisture content of all corn for grain being harvested in the state was 16%. On-farm grain storage is 42% short, 56% adequate while off-farm storage is 37% short and 60% adequate. Last week, farmers baled corn stalks, terraced, spread manure and applied anhydrous.
