For the sixth year, Holy Trinity Church in Richmond is hosting a free community meal on Thanksgiving day. According to organizer Sandy Marner, they annually have around 150 people show up for the meal, most of whom live outside Richmond. Marner believes it’s important everyone has a Thanksgiving meal, and she’s proud they can provide that for people regardless of their circumstances. She thinks their meal is really nice because everything is home-cooked, and they figure the more people who come in throughout the day, the better. She adds, we don’t care who you are, and there’s no questions asked, we just want to share the meal with everyone. A free-will offering will be accepted, and Marner says any money raised will go towards area programs that help families in need. The meal runs from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 24th. To ensure they have enough food for everyone who attends, people are encouraged to RSVP by calling Joyce Mattes at 656-3276 by Tuesday, November 22nd.
