Selected high school musicians are traveling to Ames this week to take part in the All-State Music Festival. Auditions were held last month. Washington’s Gwen Flannery was selected to play oboe, one of six, for the All-State orchestra. Also for Washington, Addison McGuire was selected as a second flute alternate. Kaya Zdan will also play in the orchestra. She plays violin and is a student in Mid-Prairie’s home school program. Sigourney is sending Rylie Shettler to sing in the 600-member choir as a second soprano. The festival begins Thursday and ends with a concert on the 19th at Iowa State University.
