A $100,000 grant has been awarded to a project with the Kewash Nature Trail in Washington. The Resource Enhancement and Protection program, also known as REAP, grant will be used to develop a trail from the Kewash Nature Trail around Willow Pond and then branch out to the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center on Lexington Boulevard. Ed Raber, Director of Washington Economic Development Group, says the project will help improve access to Willow Pond and creates a safe path to offices and homes on Lexington Boulevard. The City of Washington and Washington County have secured $342,000 in federal trail funds earlier this year to enhance the trail.
