Fifteen runners from the Southeast Iowa Super Conference earned a spot on the league’s all-conference cross country squad last week and one is from Highland. Highland senior Caleb Brase claimed all-conference honors for the first time. He posted the 14th best finish in the boys’ field with a time of 19:00. His mile pace was clocked at 6:08. The annual meet was held in Burlington on Thursday and featured runners from Cardinal, Central Lee, Columbus, Danville-New London, Holy Trinity, Iowa Mennonite School, Louisa-Muscatine, Lone Tree, Mediapolis, Pekin, Van Buren, Winfield-Mount Union, WACO and Wapello.
Brase and the Huskies’ cross country teams continue their season tomorrow, running in the Mediapolis cross country meet. Athletes from Holy Trinity, Louisa-Muscatine, Lone Tree, Mediapolis, Notre Dame, WACO and Wapello are set to run.
